the first session of the 2025 “hr elites face-to-face” salon series successfully held: exploring new pathways for corporate talent development

on the afternoon of june 14, 2025, the first session of the “hr elites face-to-face” salon series, hosted by the center for human resources and leadership development of the school of labor and human resources at renmin university of china, was successfully held in room 601 of lide building. centered on the theme “unveiling the talent strategies and internal empowerment pathways of world-class enterprises”, the event attracted hr directors and leaders from nearly 50 companies. the atmosphere was vibrant, with lively discussions and in-depth exchanges.

chen yao, secretary of the cpc committee of the school of labor and human resources, attended the event and delivered the opening remarks. on behalf of the school, secretary chen extended a warm welcome to all guests and participants, emphasizing that the school has long been committed to integrating academic research with practical application, fostering high-quality hr talent, and advancing theoretical innovation. this salon, which invited experts and alumni from leading enterprises such as google to share their experiences, exemplifies the school’s role as a think tank and a hub for talent exchange. secretary chen expressed the hope that the salon series would bring together industry wisdom, provide innovative ideas for upgrading corporate talent strategies, and wished the event great success.

ruc alumna and google asia-pacific talent advisor ms. wang manyi delivered a keynote speech titled “how to become an effective internal talent advisor?”. drawing on her experience in global talent management at google, she explained, from the three perspectives of strategic partner, organizational diagnostic expert, and capability enabler, the role positioning and value creation pathway of internal talent advisors. through an analysis of google’s talent development cases, she provided an in-depth look at the core competencies and value positioning of internal talent advisors, as well as their pivotal role in driving organizational strategic objectives, offering participants both an international perspective and cutting-edge insights.

next, professor huang wei, director of the center for human resources and leadership development, gave an in-depth introduction to the center’s “core training programs,” elaborating on the design philosophy and practical value of the curriculum. ms. han haixia, hr director of eve group and president of the school’s executive master’s alumni association, spoke on behalf of the participants, sharing her learning experiences and reporting on the association’s achievements and future plans.

the roundtable discussion, moderated by professor zhou wenxia of the school of labor and human resources, focused on the theme “internal talent advisors: hr’s new role and new value — from role transformation to organizational empowerment, how can hr become a strategic driver?”. distinguished industry practitioners—including ms. chen xiuping, hr director of a major health company in beijing; mr. tan jun, capability development convener of enn technology; ms. zhang pengyan, hr director of ufida’s zhanben business unit; and ms. wang manyi, google asia-pacific talent advisor—engaged in a dynamic dialogue. they explored topics such as hr role redefinition, mechanisms for organizational empowerment, and pathways for strategic alignment. the multi-dimensional exchange generated constructive ideas for the industry’s future development.

the successful organization of this salon not only offered hr professionals a valuable opportunity to learn advanced concepts and practices from world-class enterprises but also showcased the school of labor and human resources’ leadership in driving theoretical and practical innovation in hr management in china, as well as its commitment to deepening industry–academia integration.
